While I no longer update this blog I still receive comments from time to time on our engagement pics (post below) so I thought I'd go ahead and share some of our wedding pics with whoever would like to see! We got married on 8/10/12 in Moorpark, California at Walnut Grove. The day went by like a breeze and it was truly the happiest day I have ever, ever had. I planned everything myself, did a gazillion DIY crafts and was 100% involved in every single thing. I LOVE the way our pictures turned out and I feel like they completely captured how our day went, down to a T :)

Yep...the night ended with my husband looking like a Chippendale dancer ;) Our wedding day was declared the hottest day of the year which was crazy because a week before it started raining out of nowhere and we had to consider renting heating lamps!

Engagement pics!

A couple weeks ago we got our engagement pics back and I'd love to share some of our favorites! We took the pictures at our wedding venue, Walnut Grove (you can see pictures from when we went to their open house here) and I think they turned out great! I cant wait to take more pictures here in 9 months when we officially will be married!

Love Sweet Love

On Saturday Bret and I celebrated our 2nd year anniversary! We woke up and exchanged a few little gifts, lounged around a bit and eventually drove down to Long Beach to go to the Aquarium of the Pacific. It had been years since I'd been and Bret had never been there at all so we thought it would make the perfect day-date for our anniversary!

we ironically parked in 4D which is ironic because we met working at a company that sells/produces the software Cinema 4D. Kinda funny!

After we walked around for a few hours we drove back home and went to a Hookah Bar in the next town over. I hadnt been there since I was probably 20 and boooy had it changed. It turned into a "night club" and was basically ridiculous, especially since it is in the middle of a strip club with a Sherman Williams paint store right next door! We still had a good time and enjoyed our hookah!

This was the last anniversary we will have as a non-married couple! The next anniversary we will be celebrating will be our 1 year wedding anniversary on 8-10-13!

and I leave you with this picture of me in the bird aviary...as seen from a pic my mom took of me in Seattle: I am REALLY scared of animals (yes even butterflies : / ). I dont like them in my business, anywhere near me and i'm always scared they're going to attack me! This pic is one of many candids that I have that look very very similar

Weekend recap

Photobucket

This weekend marked our measly 2 year anniversary! It seems like we have been together for SO much longer so admitting that we've only been together for 2 years is embarrassing! We were really good friends for over a year before we started dating so I guess that adds some time to things ;) We spent our anniversary at the Long Beach Aquarium (pics to come!) and the rest of the weekend was basically spent in bed watching tv, being lazy, doing housework and finally hanging our new shelves in our kitchen. Thats about it!

pics: a wedding decoration I made for us to use somewhere, Maebel helping her daddy animate, a gluten free cider with some gluten free chocolate pretzels, sneaky kitty learned how to jump up to the FOURTH bookshelf shelf in attempt to eat my flowers, writing down our bills is so depressing, our dinner last night...SO not fair!, our new shelves that will hang seasonal decorations in the kitchen!

Halloween at the Ranch

So...I have bad anxiety..sometimes really bad anxiety. I love knowing whats going to happen ahead of time and I love game plans and planning and just knowing what to expect. Crazy, yes, but at least I know I am not the only one who is like this! Praise the internet gods for coming along and giving me thinks like Yelp, Google and Trip Adviser! So..before we went to the Ranch I of course went on their (ghetto) website to see if any events would be happening the weekend while we were up there, and surprise, they were having a Halloween fest! Pumpking decorating contests, costume contests, trick or treating etc. I quickly told Bret to call his mom so that his mom could grab the kids Halloween Costumes before they left... but, being a guy, Bret never got clarification weather or not she actually knew about the costumes/grabbed the costumes and by this time they were already up in the mountains with no cell phone service.

Thats when their Aunt Libby's anxiety comes into play...no way will my (future) niece and nephew be the only kids at the Ranch without their costumes! I was on a mission to find them both a super cute costume and luckily the family I nanny for had a big dress up box I could search through!

Too cute! I taught Alice to say "yee haw, welcome to the ranch!" and Liam to say "Arrrg Mateys, welcome to Rrrrrrr-Ranch!". Grandma had indeed brought their costumes up but it was good that I brought these because it was hotter than heck outside and their real costumes are definitely more for night time. So they wore the costumes I brought up for the day's festivities and Grandma's for night time trick or treating!

At night we got the kids ready and went from cabin to cabin Trick or Treating. It was crazy how much people decorated the cabins they were staying in! We found out that this was R Ranch's 3rd Annual Halloween Event and that each year people go all out with the decorations and costumes..we were so lucky to be up here for this!

R Ranch with the Bays

As a little girl I spent weekends up at R-Ranch with my dad and our close family church friends on the Kern River. R-Ranch is an RV/Cabin camp up in the middle of no where and it's membership only..basically nobody has ever heard of it. Ironically Brets family also belonged! When Bret and I both found out that we each had been to R- Ranch we were shocked because seriously..nobody has heard of it!

2 weekends ago Bret and I drove up to Kern County to meet up with his parents, brother, niece and nephew for a weekend up in the mountains. We got there late at night and went to bed in our little tent that was already set up for us. During the day it was in the high 80's and at night it was in the 40's..it was freezing!! We woke up and spent the next 2 days playing with our little niece and nephew who we adore so much. We went on mini hikes, fed the ducks, went out on the paddle boats and the boys had a water balloon fight while the girls sat inside the RV!
